Central Florida Earth Day Returns to Lake Eola with Expanded Sustainability Efforts

On April 25, Central Florida Earth Day will be celebrated at Lake Eola Park from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., with more than 250 eco-friendly vendors, plant-based food options, live music and community education in one of the region’s largest environmental celebrations. Hosted by Vegetarians of Central Florida, the annual event welcomes families, pets and anyone interested in sustainable living.

The daylong gathering features a vibrant marketplace of environmental organizations, artisans and mission-driven businesses alongside a variety of plant-based food vendors and educational displays. A dedicated animal haven area highlights local rescue groups and promotes compassionate care for animals.

New for 2026, the event is placing an even stronger focus on sustainability through enhanced waste-management initiatives. Four composting and recycling stations will be staffed by community partners including Fleet Farming, Green Party of Central Florida, Orlando Permaculture and Sierra Club Central Florida Group to help divert waste from landfills and educate attendees about responsible disposal.

Central Florida Earth Day is intentionally 100 percent vegan, reflecting the event’s focus on environmental stewardship, animal compassion and human health. Organizers note that plant-based living helps reduce the environmental footprint of food production while supporting animal welfare and sustainable food systems. Visitors are encouraged to explore how flavorful and accessible vegan living can be through food tastings, cooking inspiration and educational resources.

As a family-friendly, dog-friendly, alcohol-free and smoke-free event, Central Florida Earth Day invites the community to spend the day learning, shopping sustainably and celebrating practical ways to care for the planet.
