Reiki Benefits, the Chakra System & Tarot Reiki Healing

Sep 30, 2022 09:31AM ● By Yolanda Arenas Acosta
Reiki is a practice that many in the holistic industry are familiar with, and fortunately, it has now found its way into mainstream medicine. People are using its effective approach to heal numerous ailments.

Although the practice of Reiki was in existence in the early 1800s, it was a gentleman born on the 16th of August in 1865, in the Japanese village of Taniai Yamagata (today known as Nagoya) that led some people to believe that he was responsible for Reiki’s popularity. Usui Mikao was a kind person who experienced hardships throughout his lifetime and though faced with adversity, he studied and traveled to Europe, America and China where his knowledge grew in different areas of medicine. Endowed with the gift of Reiki healing, Usui flourished and returned to a place called Mount Kurama in Japan where his life changed forever.

The words Rei & Ki can be defined as a higher intelligence and the nonphysical energy that animates all things. Defined by The International Reiki Training Center on their website reiki.org

Rei can be defined as the Higher Intelligence that guides the creation and functioning of the universe. Rei is a subtle wisdom that permeates everything, both animate and inanimate

• Ki is the non-physical energy that animates all living things. Ki is flowing in everything that is alive including plants, animals and humans.

As reported by The International Reiki Training Center, Usui’s curriculum included “medicine, psychology, and religion as well as the art of divination, which Asians have long considered to be a worthy skill. Usui also became a member of the Rei Jyutu Ka, a metaphysical group dedicated to developing psychic abilities.”

The Chakra System

So, when I think of Reiki, I automatically visualize our body’s Chakra System and how Reiki works directly with these specific points of energy that are located from the base of the spine to the top (crown) of the head and how these key elements form part of the human structure. Some people work with the Kundalini energy coil that lies doormat at the base of the spine, but Chakras have a vibrational force. Metaphysics has taught me that not only are there energy points in the human body, but our planet has them as well. These are called meridians.

A meridian is the locus connecting points of equal longitude which is the angle east or west of a given prime meridian such as the meridians that run between the North and South poles. (See more at WikipediaEncyclopedia.)

When we talk about Chakras, we need to understand that each chakra has a different vibration. Each chakra has a different level of emotions and characteristics that can be identified by its color which intensifies as it vibrates. When these vibrational energies are in equilibrium, a person can have a sense of harmony in one's body. But when the Chakras are out of balance, they can create havoc to one's health. The key to optimization is balance.

There are seven energy vibrations that are known as Chakras. There are other Chakras as well, but we will focus mainly on these seven. The colors that emanate in vibration from a body are Red (Root), Orange (Sacral), Yellow (Solar Plexus), Green (Heart), Blue (Throat), Indigo (Third Eye) and Violet (Crown). Sometimes these colors can appear in a brownish shade when observed by a Chakra Reader. People who work closely with Kirlian Photography (those who specialize in photographing Auras) can identify those areas in the body that may appear to have some form of blockage. The good news is that treatment can bring healing to the area before manifesting into some form of a dis-ease.

Some people are endowed with seeing Auras which are the energy vibrations that each person’s body emits around their energy field. While others can perceive vibrations, many can go through life without even noticing a small vibration at all. Consciousness and intuition play a huge part. Being in tune with one's body can exhilarate a healing process.

From the bottom to the top, the human anatomy emits energy from the root of the coccis, the Root Chakra which plays an important part as it is the foundation located at the base of the spine. The Root Chakra identifies with the tribal aspects of life, and it is the foundation which pertains to a Family Tribe. When the Root Chakra is unbalanced, people might experience family issues, back problems, financial problems and feel insecure (a loss of stability).

The Sacral Chakra, second in line, deals with energies that pertain to human sexuality, and the reproductive system. When the Sacral Chakra energy is blocked, many people might experience loss of libido, relationship issues and dis-ease of the ovaries and the reproductive system. Symptoms may include anxiety, loneliness and isolation. The Sacral Chakra emits the color orange, and when a person is flirtatious in their creative expression, there is harmony. A Reiki Practitioner can help attain the balance that is needed to live a life of peace and harmony.

The Tarot

Another form of Chakra Healing may be that of the Tarot. Tarot Readers can be seen as “Wayshowers” (those who show a way). I am a Wayshower. Though Readers can come in all forms, shapes and sizes and work with both sides of the spectrum, Wayshowers serve as benevolent guides. People have a misconception of what Tarot is (and understandably so) as it is portrayed in books and film as dark and witchy-like. This is far from the truth. Tarot Readers have been part of the Entertainment and Performance sector for many years and, though tainted to a certain extent, they are now more accessible to the public. As times change, people's perspectives change, too. Chakra Tarot Readers help in many ways since they can pinpoint negative energies that interfere with good health at a vibratory level. A general reading of the Tarot can be insightful, but a Chakra Tarot reading can help with Chakra energies that may be blocking one's energy and manifesting in a negative way in someone’s life.

With Earth’s vibrational changes, more and more people are looking for healing outside of the medical Pharmacopeia. Traditional forms of healing have returned and work favorably hand-in-hand with the medical industry and science. People are searching to heal their physical bodies, and seeking to heal their metaphysical energy levels as well.

Our bodies have a force that enables the human cells to create and heal. We, as a species, do not fully comprehend our human construct, but consciousness is teaching us! Our metaphysical teachers have always taught that “we are the creators of our universe.” And, I have learned that our bodies are empowered with precognitive knowledge. Our minds can help heal! Finally, it is time…we are accepting and awakening to this new understanding.
